The 2010 Rip Curl Pro Surf and Music Festival presented by Snickers. The Rip Curl Pro is stop number two of the ASP World Tour this year. All the worlds’ best male and female surfers will be in town, thrilling spectators on the beach and on the World Wide Web alike as they throw themselves at big Southern Ocean swells Huey will bless us with over Easter. While prize money, ratings points and bragging rights are up for grabs, every surfer on the Dream Tour has their eyes fixed sharply on the infamous Bell trophy. They dream, crave and yearn for the unique opportunity to lift up that Bell and ring the neck off it. Reigning ASP World Champion winner Mick Fanning will be leading the Aussie assault at Bells, along with defending champion Joel Parkinson and 2007 winner Taj Burrow. Nine-time ASP World Champ Kelly Slater will be searching for his fourth Rip Curl Pro title and three-time ASP World Champ Andy Irons is returning from a one-year break and keen for a third Bells win. This year’s Rip Curl Women’s Pro presented by Ford Fiesta has produced the most exciting field of female surfers we have ever witnessed in Australia, headlined by reigning three-time ASP Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore. However, Brazilian Silvana Lima comes to Bells as the defending champion, after ruining Gilmore’s try at three straight Rip Curl Pro wins in the final last year. The Bells Live Music Stage will fire up on Easter Saturday and Sunday, with the adjoined Toohey’s Extra Dry and Jim Beam bar the best vantage point to keep one eye on the lineup and one ear on the music. Tickets can be purchased at the Bells Beach ticket office onsite from March 30.
